Raw material -  Includes wood pulp, polyacrylate (a super absorbent polymer (SAP)), polypropylene and cellulose used to create the outer shell and absorbent lining and plastic in the fastening tabs.
Pulp used in the Moltex Eco Nappies is sourced from plantation grown virgin fibre.
Adhesives used do not contain phthalates. The nappies contain no perfumes, deodorizing agents or tributyl tin (TBT) a catalyst used in the production process of certain plastics or used as a stabilizer in PVC. TBT is known to disrupt sex hormones.

Manufacturing - The wood pulp in Moltex Eco nappies is oxygen bleached, the process is 100% chlorine free.
Moltex Eco Nappies were endorsed by the Good Environmental Choice Australia (GECA) on 12th July 2007.
Water effluent resulting from the manufacturing process is collected by a licensed hazardous wastewater processor.
The nappies are manufactured in Germany and meet EU regulations. Moltex eco nappies are made to the highest eco credentials and are a leader in their field.

Distribution –  The raw materials are obtained from close to where they are manufactured in Germany. Nappies are transported from their point of manufacture to retail outlets or distributors. Nappies can be purchased on line and distributed via post.

Product use –  The products are disposable and designed for single use.

Waste management – The inner fill of the nappies can be composted and breaks down in 8-10 weeks in a wormery. The SAP adds water retention properties to compost and is widely used as a soil wetter.
The outer lining is 100% biodegradable polymer, the inner filling is 100% biodegradable and also compostable, the packaging is also 100% biodegradable. The inner lining is made of 40% biodegradable polymer and 60% polypropylene. The fastening tabs are plastic and as such are not biodegradable or compostable.
